How to Animate in Photoshop

Text Version

Animate with Photoshop

Hello! Here we will be teching YOU how to animate in Photoshop.
Step 1) Make your frames. Frames = layers. The best effect is to slow change in 3 or 4 layers. also, if you are making another layer and want it to be say, the ground (or just the background - something you want to have remain there the whole time), then you have to make the ground in every frame.
Over 5 frames, the happy face turned to a crying face.
Step 2) Get your animating tools ready. In the drop down menus, go to Window>Animation
Make sure layer 1 or your first frame is the only visible layer!
Make a new frame every time, making the next layer visible (and sometimes, making the last layer NOT visible, like in this example). The little page icon is for making new frames. Also, make sure that you change the time so it slows down a bit (instead of 0 sec, say 0.5 sec)
Congrats! Save your image as a .gif to animate and enjoy!
