Care of Clothes
One way to be green, fashionable, and save a ton of money is to use these tips!
- Use rubbing alcohol on your grass stains, and Eucalyptus Oil works great too!
- Use borax and baking soda
- Take your whites outside to dry and hang them where they can get at least 5 hours of sunlight. After 5 hours...voila! They've been bleached, without ever having to touch the bleach container!
- The above method works even better if you add lemon juice!
- When you can't super heat your water, try Tea Tree Oil. Tea tree oil has antiseptic, antibacterial, germicidal, and fungicidal properties.
- When you have a stubborn stain, say blood, try using Hydrogen Peroxide. However, this is really hard on the fibers so only use a tiny pinch when you really have to.
- Use hot water before trying any method, since it is the best way to clean!
- Be careful -- protein-based stains can become permanent if you use the wrong method!
- Try drying your clothes on a line outside. It works great and especially fast in the summer, and it gives your clothes a nice smell without all the detergents that do the same thing! It also really warms things up!
